Grouper Season is open! We fished the Jeff Leiona Reel and Steel Classic and grouper was the target species. We entered the fishing and the free diving categories but the grouper were hard to come by for us. We lost a couple but finally in the afternoon Sara speared one to put us on the board! In this episode I had out on a spur of the moment trip aboard our 28' Freeman. We grabbed the NickStick's (and some other rods) and a pile of slow pitch jigs. We ran offshore for 45 minutes and on the very first drop hooked up! It wound up being the target species and was a beautiful queen snapper! We fished a few more hours and caught a couple jacks before heading back to Bud n' Mary's Marina....

In this episode we head out deep dropping off the Florida Keys. Golden Tilefish are the target and we have a Hooker Electric Reel rigged up, a handcrank rod, and a slow pitch jig rod. In this episode we head way out in the Gulf of Mexico in search of Cobia on our 28’ Freeman. It was suppose to be 8-10 knot winds but the weatherman lied and it wound up blowing 15-20 knots! In this episode we take the 28' Freeman back to Everglades National Park and camp on the beach at Cape Sable. We do a little bit of fishing on the way back and catch some jacks and a nice sheepshead (which we cook up for dinner). While on the beach we put out a couple rods and catch a variety of sharks before sunset. The next morning we pack up the tent and start our run back toward Islamorada....

Suzuki's engine is the best among competitors, and I think you are deliberately trying to tarnish the reputation of this brand
VST needed heavy cleaning. Took the mechanics a couple days to figure it out. Every outboard out there nowadays is decent but Yamaha is the most reliable by far. And yes all motors will have failures at some point, some just more frequently than others. My friend who owned the boat bought a new boat recently and went with triple 300 Yamahas
@@StanzFam In our country, the weather is very hot, and the temperature reaches 60 degrees Celsius and more. At this temperature, the Almaha and the Suzuki were the best, but the Almaha agent was and still is very bad, and for this reason everyone turned to the Suzuki.

Loved video. We Cubans make this, but we use Corbina or Snapper roe, not Swordfish. We beat eggs with flour, chopped onions, bell-peppers, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper, mix it all in with roe so as to create a batter, then deep fry batter and it tastes really good.

Hi Nick, please keep the videos coming. Since you are a Yamaha guy (we have a pair of 2022 F300XSBs), do you change out the OCV and VST filters religiously at 500 hours? The OCV doesn’t seem that hard to do but the VST seems like a bear. Read some blogs and there seems to be mixed opinions. Our boat (33 Grady) is located in Hawaii (tropical climate), docked year round in clean water and we use non-ethanol fuel. Just wanted to get your opinion. Thank you!
Hey I definitely don’t do them as often as I should. Our older 350’s we had to clean out the VST’s a couple times but I haven’t done them yet on our 300’s. Haven’t had an issue with those on the last few boats , nor anything with the OCV. Service intervals are definitely important but some more than others I think
